If you are reading this, it means that I actually made my flight for my summer vacation.

I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 7 years, and plan to continue doing so.
Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.

I have tried to support him, but somehow find that these last few weeks (especially the last 7 days) have been incredibly difficult for me.
Suddenly, all the sacrifices we have made are overshadowed by urgent tasks that keep popping up at our home, some of which I truly can’t take care of on my own.
Continue reading “Holding The Course”I read many blog posts each day. They mostly focus on personal finance, but also on minimalism and travel . Here are some of my favorite posts I read in June and July.

I had high hopes of practicing the retired life on these days, and using that time to pursue projects or activities I usually can’t pursue on a week day.
Looking back at my reports on those 31 Mondays, what did I actually end up doing?

Continue reading “Fitness Log #401, Friday Firsts And Fabulousness”You may have noticed I haven’t been posting much beyond my Fitness Logs recently.
This is mainly because I have been working in the hospital. A lot.
Hospital weeks are always intense, with plenty of sick patients, the need to supervise residents and teach medical students. There’s also the whole no-days-off thing.
So you may imagine that I wasn’t particularly thrilled to be pulled in for emergency coverage soon after finishing my own scheduled stint in the hospital.
I was already sleep-deprived. The house was a mess after my last hospital rotation. I had a full schedule of clinic patients who needed to be rescheduled.
What kept me going throughout that week was an email from my boss, reminding me that I would get a bonus for this extra work.
