I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for over a year, and plan to continue doing so.
During this pandemic, though, things change so rapidly, I want to acknowledge some of the ways we are coping with it. I am keeping track of some of my “firsts” as I deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Friday Firsts
This week’s firsts:
- I gave away tomatoes from our garden! (To our neighbors, who have been watching them grow this summer.)
- I saw the fourth woman–but the first non-white woman–named to a major party presidential ticket. I’m not super into politics, but as a woman, I keep track of things like this. One of these days, we will get a woman into the White House; hopefully in my lifetime.
Fitness Log
As a reminder, my goal is to make sure that I at least 150 minutes a week of moderate exercise, though I am finding I feel better if I get more than that. I also am incorporating strength training into my week, with a goal of 60 minutes.
How did I do?
- Saturday: An afternoon walk in the heat, 24 minutes.
- Sunday: A morning walk before it got too warm, 32 minutes.
- Monday: A rest day (planned).
- Tuesday: Zoom yoga after work, 80 minutes.
- Wednesday: Took a long walk. (At noon, in the summer. Not my best idea.) 60 minutes.
- Thursday: Training session after work, 30 minutes.
- Friday: Walk after work, 40 minutes.
Total: 156 minutes walking, 30 minutes weight training and 80 minutes yoga, for a total of 266 minutes of exercise this week. I feel ever so much better getting more exercise. Next week I start working on the wards, so I don’t think I’ll be able to work out so much. We will see.
