I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for over 2 years, and plan to continue doing so.
I started the Friday Firsts sections as a way of keeping track of some of my “firsts” as I dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic. Things seem to be settling down, but I will keep it for now–more as a way to be aware and thankful of what is happening in my life.
Friday Firsts
This week’s firsts:
- I had a day of telemedicine without a single appointment. Not one. Still had to sit by the computer most of the day (blergh).
Fitness Log
As a reminder, my current goal is to make sure that I get 210 minutes a week of moderate exercise, of which 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.
How did I do?
- Saturday: Third week in a row at the tennis courts. Mr. PiN and I spent 50 minutes “playing tennis,” which was some volleys, some running around, a lot of retrieving the balls I hit out into the other courts (whoops).
- Sunday: It wasn’t the nicest day outside, and I lounged around the house instead of working out. No exercise.
- Monday: My trainer had to reschedule to Wednesday, so I took a long walk after work, 52 minutes.
- Tuesday: Zoom yoga after work, very painful. 80 minutes.
- Wednesday: I was super-sore after yesterday’s yoga, and took a walk to loosen up. On my way home, my trainer had to cancel, which I was very grateful for. 32 minutes walking.
- Thursday: Still sore from Tuesday, with a long-ish work day. I was happy to call this a rest day. No exercise.
- Friday: A short walk today, 20 minutes.
Total: 107 minutes walking, 50 minutes of tennis, and 80 minutes of yoga, for a total of 237 minutes. Feeling good.
