Fitness Log #158 And Friday Firsts

I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for over 3 years, and plan to continue doing so.

I started the Friday Firsts sections as a way of keeping track of some of my “firsts” as I dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic. Things seem to be settling down, but I will keep it for now–more as a way to be aware and thankful of what is happening in my life.

Friday Firsts

This week’s firsts:

  1. We had a house guest (my sister in law) come stay for an indeterminate amount of time. It’s very different having someone stay without an end date.
  2. I “got” to participate in discussions about funerals. Oh, joy.

Fitness Log

As a reminder, my current goal is to make sure that I get 210 minutes a week of moderate exercise, of which 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.

How did I do?

  • Saturday:  Today was a day full of driving, bad weather, and exhaustion. No exercise.
  • Sunday:  The past week caught up with me, in the form of hours of work that needed to be completed. No exercise today, either.
  • Monday: It was a relief to work out with my trainer after 3 days of not-exercising. 30 minutes.
  • Tuesday: A very short walk home from work (my ride couldn’t find a parking spot, and so parked much closer to the hospital than usual), and then an evening walk to round things out. A total of 44 minutes walking.
  • Wednesday: Walked around town running some errands, 43 minutes.
  • Thursday: I got a ride most of the way home, I probably walked 1/2 mile. Or maybe it was a 1/4 mile. Anyway, I didn’t time it, so it will be uncounted.
  • Friday: Definitely no exercise today.

Total: 77 minutes walking, 30 minutes of strength training, for a total of 107 minutes. I did not meet my exercise goals, but as you might have guessed, life was full of other obligations. I will just try to keep moving and not worrying too much about goals, until life goes back to normal.
