I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for over 3 years, and plan to continue doing so.
I started the Friday Firsts sections as a way of keeping track of some of my “firsts” as I dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic. Things seem to be settling down, but I will keep it for now–more as a way to be aware and thankful of what is happening in my life.
Friday Firsts
This week’s firsts:
- I smelled the first lilacs of the season on a walk this week.
Fitness Log
For the first few months of 2022, the goal is to do my PT exercises 3 times a week, and get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.
How did I do?
- Saturday: Exhausted after yesterday’s adventures. I got up late, and never left the house.
- Sunday: Finally, finally, after several weeks of feeling lousy, I felt interested in walking today (the sunshine probably helped). 26 minutes walking.
- Monday: I logged on for my training session. First one in a month. 30 minutes.
- Tuesday: There was a lot of baloney at work today, and then the weather wasn’t awesome either. I didn’t exercise at all.
- Wednesday: 34 minute walk today.
- Thursday: What a (long) day. No exercise time.
- Friday: A busy day, but one that I ended (mostly) on time. However, I had no time to exercise, as one of my college friends came to visit. We spent several hours outside gabbing away the evening. It was great.
Total: 60 minutes walking and 30 minutes of strength training, for a total of 90 minutes. Still not at my goal, but feeling better is a huge step forward. We will see what progress I make as the Spring progresses.
