I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 4 years, and plan to continue doing so.
I started the Friday Firsts sections as a way of keeping track of some of my “firsts” as I dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic. Things seem to be settling down, but I will keep it for now–more as a way to be aware and thankful of what is happening in my life.
Friday Firsts
This week’s firsts:
- One of my friends received (earned) quite a windfall, and bought a humongous house this summer. Mr. PiN and I went over for dinner this week and got to see the place.
- I finally had coffee with a different friend–our first get-together since she retired.
Fitness Log
The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.
How did I do?
- Saturday: Stayed home and vegetated (after finishing off yesterday’s work by computer). No exercise.
- Sunday: I loaded up a 20 minute yoga video. It was harder than it used to be.
- Monday: An evening work out with my trainer. 30 minutes.
- Tuesday: No exercise after a long day.
- Wednesday: No formal exercise, but I did have to walk between appointments, I would estimate it was a 10 minute walk (I forgot to time it).
- Thursday: A very busy day after a poor night’s sleep. No exercise.
- Friday: Another very busy day, no exercise.
Total: At least 10 minutes walking, 20 minutes of yoga, and 30 minutes of strength training, for a total of 60 minutes. A far cry from my goal of 150 minutes. We will see if I can get out for walks, or buckle down to do more exercise videos if it is cold.
