I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 4 years, and plan to continue doing so.
I started the Friday Firsts sections as a way of keeping track of some of my “firsts” as I dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic. Things seem to be settling down, but I will keep it for now–more as a way to be aware and thankful of what is happening in my life.
Friday Firsts
This week’s firsts:
- I flew on Spirit airlines. Not my favorite, but it got me where I needed to go.
Fitness Log
The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.
How did I do?
- Saturday: A travel day. I did walk up and down airport terminals, but didn’t count any of it as exercise.
- Sunday: My first day home for a long time. I reveled in staying indoors, taking care of laundry, bills, and other domestic chores.
- Monday: An afternoon walk of 29 minutes, plus my work out with my trainer (another 30 minutes).
- Tuesday: A work day, I was too tired to exercise.
- Wednesday: A walk for 24 minutes.
- Thursday: I walked part-way home, 20 minutes.
- Friday: I had planned on a walk after work, and maybe (even) a little yoga to meet my 150 minute target. But work ran long and then my mom wanted to talk too–suddenly my window for exercise shut. No exercise today.
Total: 73 minutes of exercise, 30 minutes of training, for a total of 103 minutes. I did not meet my exercise goal, but getting to sleep in my own bed was amazing.
