I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 4 years, and plan to continue doing so.
Soon after the pandemic started, I started keeping track of various firsts, as the world changed. It’s been nearly 3 years, and firsts are getting fewer. I will try to note any going forward.
However, I think I might benefit from noting something (or two, or three, if I am lucky) that I am grateful for each week. Hopefully something fabulous, if only to me. We will see how long I can keep this up.
Friday Fabulousness
I am so thankful for my friend’s gift of a sunrise alarm clock. I’ve had this for several years, but in the depths of January, I am so grateful to see the warm light when I have to wake up for work.
Fitness Log
The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.
How did I do?
- Saturday: This was an at-home day, between finishing up work, study, and cleaning. No exercise.
- Sunday: I took an afternoon walk to and from the library to pick up a book I had reserved. 52 minutes.
- Monday: No walk, but a work out with my trainer. 30 minutes.
- Tuesday: A walk part-way home, 20 minutes.
- Wednesday: Coffee with a retired friend, and then a walk home. 28 minutes.
- Thursday: I walked part way home from work, 20 minutes. I just made my weekly goal, anything else will be a bonus!
- Friday: I’m glad I had already met my exercise goal, as I wasn’t ready to do much exercise after work. It’s OK though.
Total: 120 minutes of walking, and 30 minutes of strength training. Goal achieved!
