I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 4 years, and plan to continue doing so.
I started the Friday Firsts sections as a way of keeping track of some of my “firsts” as I dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic. Things seem to be settling down, but I will keep it for now–more as a way to be aware and thankful of what is happening in my life.
Friday Firsts
This week’s firsts:
- I caught a viral infection (Not COVID) for the first time since the pandemic started. Not my most joyful first.
Fitness Log
The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.
How did I do?
- Saturday: A long travel day. In theory, I had time to exercise once I came home, but I was too exhausted.
- Sunday: I did not feel well, and rested today.
- Monday: I walked part way home to the new pick up point, 20 minutes. Felt lousy enough I canceled my training session.
- Tuesday: Walked part way home, 20 minutes.
- Wednesday: Felt better today, enough to go to my tennis lesson. But not well enough to go quite the whole time. I am not sure how long I played, but will call it 45 minutes.
- Thursday: I felt worse, and did not walk.
- Friday: No exercise today either..
Total: 40 minutes of walking and 45 minutes of tennis. I didn’t reach any exercise goals, not did I do PT (which would have been much easier). Darned URIs.
