I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 5 years, and plan to continue doing so.
Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.
Friday Firsts
This week’s firsts:
- I left my computer behind when I visited family this week. It was quite freeing to be unable to log into work.
Fabulousness
My friend and I went to a different museum this weekend (museum visits two weeks in a row). Fabulous!
Fitness Log
The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.
How did I do?
- Saturday: I stopped by my friend’s place, put on my ankle brace, and walked with her to the nearby museum. I did not set a timer, but I used a maps app later to estimate walking time. 36 minutes for the round trip.
- Sunday: I dashed out for a quick walk around the neighborhood between social Zoom meetings. 20 minutes.
- Monday: I was limping at work, and decided against a walk today. I also didn’t work out with my trainer, as she was having a well-deserved holiday. I could have done something on my own, but work lasted until dinnertime, when I didn’t have the hard stop for my work out. Maybe my foot will feel better tomorrow.
- Tuesday: Another day getting picked up at work. Tonight will be filled with work (pajama time–sounds so sweet, but it is not). No exercise for today.
- Wednesday: Today, we got ready for a road trip, and then drove. No measured exercise, though I did run up and down the stairs a number of times as I thought of things I needed.
- Thursday: More driving, and then a family dinner.
- Friday: No measured exercise today either, though I did spend some time playing frisbee with a niece and nephew.
Total: I definitely did not meet my exercise goals for the week, as other activities took priority.
