I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 5 years, and plan to continue doing so.
Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.
Friday Firsts
This week’s firsts:
- I started watching a CME series I had purchased. It was less dull than I had feared–actually it was pretty interesting. I am not sure if I will feel the same after I get through the rest of the series (59 hours!).
Fabulousness
I picked up my scarf while watching my CME video, and got through a number of rows without dropping any stitches. Fabulous!
Fitness Log
The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.
How did I do?
- Saturday: This was a travel day. A long travel day. No exercise.
- Sunday: I was very tired, happy to be home, and busy unpacking and getting ready for the work week. I did not exercise today.
- Monday: The weather changed, and I was not ready for a walk outside. Once home, I was catching up on work, and relieved that my trainer was taking a vacation. I worked through my workout time.
- Tuesday: The weather was worse, and I got picked up at the hospital. No exercise today.
- Wednesday: Our wires got crossed, and my tennis teacher scheduled someone else during my usual time. Which was fine, as I had a work meeting awfully close to what would have been my lesson.
- Thursday: I started to feel unwell today. Unfortunately, this was the day Mr. PiN felt it was time for me to walk to our usual pick up point and get some fresh air. I did walk slowly (I will call it only 20 minutes, though it felt longer). Then I got sicker over the evening.
- Friday: I rested as much as possible, and did absolutely no exercise today..
Total: Between travel, and then falling ill, I got very little exercise this week, just 20 minutes. At the beginning of the week, I skipped exercise because I was swamped catching up at work–that’s the sort of behavior I am trying to overcome with this challenge. At the end of the week, I just wasn’t well enough to work out; I don’t think there was really much to do about it. I hope next week I will feel well enough to feel like exercising more.

Stay Blessed – Mel
Thank you for stopping by, Mel.
I hope you feel better soon. I totally get what you’re saying about the cold, though. Normally it doesn’t bother me but, a few times this week, I’ve opened the front door and thought “Nope. Not today.” It has warmed up a bit so I’m hoping to get back on track.
My cold is gone, my foot remains problematic. I am considering working my way through your list of 22-minute workouts this winter when the weather is too yucky to get outside.
