I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 5 years, and plan to continue doing so.
Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.
Fabulousness
- I needed a pick me up in the afternoon, and I was able to get a Starbucks concoction for free.
- I (re-)discovered the ability to read books for free on the Kindle app, as I am already a Prime member. The fabulous part was finding something good to read.
Fitness Log
The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.
How did I do on this hybrid week (half-hospital, half-not)?
- Saturday: A walk part way home from work to a further pick up point, 23 minutes.
- Sunday: A walk to the usual pick up point, 20 minutes.
- Monday: My foot was pretty sore. I got picked up from work, and went for a neighborhood walk afterwards, 20 minutes.
- Tuesday: Mr. PiN picked me up from work and we stopped in the nearby neighborhood to walk around and see Christmas lights. Unfortunately, my foot started hurting so we had to cut our walk short. 13 minutes.
- Wednesday: No exercise today.
- Thursday: I moved my tennis lesson to Thursday this week, because I took the day off. 60 minutes.
- Friday: I was exhausted and my foot was rather uncomfortable. I stayed home and moved very slowly.
Total: 76 minutes of walking and 60 minutes of tennis, for a total of 133 minutes. This is ahead of my goal for the hospital week, but not quite at my non-hospital week goal. I will declare this week a win.
