I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 5 years, and plan to continue doing so.
Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.
Friday Firsts
This week’s firsts:
- A patient asked for my hands and then prayed for my hospital team. Considering how long I have been in practice, I am bemused to realize this is a first.
- I saw a bike barrel into a car (I know bikes have the right of way, but if a car is turning and you are half a block away from the intersection–going faster than the motorized cars–it seems to me you ought to be slowing down). Luckily, everyone was fine, though the driver was pretty shaken.
Fabulousness
Mr. PiN took me out to dinner when I was feeling overwhelmed with all the sameness of my days (go to work, come back to work on the sofa). It was wonderful.
Fitness Log
The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.
How did I do during this hot and humid hospital week?
I will cut to the chase: I did not exercise whatsoever. We had a spate of very hot days, and I caught a cold from Mr. PiN that really set off my asthma. There was no way I was able to exert myself, even indoors.
I hope your week went better.
Some weeks are just like that. I hope you’re feeling better!
Yep, with the delay in posting, I can definitely say I am better (now). Thanks!
