I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 5years, and plan to continue doing so.
Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.
Friday Firsts
This week’s firsts:
For the first time, ever, I stopped in at one of the hospital chapels. No particular issue, I just thought I might see what it looks like, after passing it for nearly 20 years. It was quiet and peaceful.

Fitness Log
The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.
How did I do during this hospital week?
- Saturday: No exercise today.
- Sunday: I walked part way home for a pick up. It was slow going, I got picked up a little closer to the hospital than usual. I will call it 17 minutes.
- Monday: My back pack was aggravating my shoulders today, so I did not walk to a pick up point today. I did walk around the block with Mr. PiN (without my pack) after we got home. 5 minutes.
- Tuesday: Another walk around the block after work, 5 minutes.
- Wednesday: Nothing, too busy with work.
- Thursday: Still nothing.
- Friday: Nothing again.
Total: 27 minutes of walking. Pretty sad, but I will say that my bum shoulder really got in the way of things.
Some weeks are just like that.
When I was having cancer treatment, I often visited the reflection room (formerly chapel) at the hospital. I was amazed that they located it in a busy corridor where the main part of the hospital connects to the cancer centre. It was very noisy. 😂
It makes sense to have a chapel where people can find it, but I don’t find lots of noise conducive to whatever benefit I would be looking for in one.
