I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 5 years, and plan to continue doing so.
Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.
Friday Firsts and Fabulousness
This week’s firsts:
Mr. PiN and I went to play tennis in the evening when the weather broke. The usual courts were full, so he took me to the sports field he used all the time as a kid. It’s a special place, in the center of a residential block. Pretty cool.
Fitness Log
The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.
How did I do during this hospital week?
- Saturday: A long day today, no exercise.
- Sunday: A shorter day, with better weather. A 20 minute walk part way home, and then another 20 minute walk in the neighborhood in the evening.
- Monday: Another good day for exercise. A 20 minute walk to my pick up point. After I finished work, Mr. PiN and I went to play tennis. The usual courts were full, so we ended up going elsewhere. 15 minutes.
- Tuesday: A walk to my pick up point–I started late, and got picked up a little closer to the hospital. We’ll call it 18 minutes.
- Wednesday: A walk to my pick up point (all the way to the usual one), 20 minutes.
- Thursday: I was feeling tired and lazy, but Mr. PiN persuaded me to take a walk in the good weather. 20 minutes.
- Friday: I walked to my pick up point, 20 minutes.
Total: 138 minutes of walking and 15 minutes of tennis, for a total of 153 minutes. I met my goal for a hospital week with room to spare– I even met my goal for a normal week!
