My Favorite Posts By Other People, November 2024

I read many blog posts each day. They mostly focus on personal finance, but also on minimalism and travel . Here are some of my favorites that I read in November.

Seeing as how I was tired and ready for vacation about 3 days after returning from my last one, I was open to the message in this post from No Sidebar about “NO”vember.

She is saying “no” to other things to read that book.

BudgetListLife has a different take on the same subject of using mimimalism to make life easier, which she elaborates on in Thriving Through Minimalism.

Like many of us, I am working on making my life better, and hoping to make myself a better person. This piece by Nick Maggiulli at Of Dollars and Data, How to Change Yourself: Pain vs Perceived Pain, gave me a lot to think about.

I was also open and ready for this post from Jesse Cramer at The Best Interest Blog. Mr. PiN’s dad passed away this fall, and we are getting some (nice) financial surprises. You Received a Windfall: Now What? is just what this blogger needed to read as a reminder of what to do (and not do).

Blue Lobster wants to make sure you are taking care of Future You. Her advice: even if you have a pension, Invest on the Side.

Many people who enjoy thinking about personal finance want to make sure they have enough money to live on, especially in retirement. There is lots of writing about “the number” and the correct withdrawal strategy. Just in time for Thanksgiving, Harry Sit, The Finance Buff, has a message for us all: Retirees, a Rich Life Does Not Require Spending More Money.

Nothing to do with finance, really, but an interesting article on reducing waste in building demolition. From Bloomberg’s CityLab (originally introduced to me through Pocket), Appetite for Deconstruction.

Greg Spears at Humble Dollar wrote about reducing waste as well, but on a more personal scale. What You Can Do is a piece that offers a little encouragement to do the right thing at home, even if it doesn’t seem like much.

Do you have any favorite posts from November?
