Fitness Log #326, Friday Firsts And Fabulousness

I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 6 years, and plan to continue doing so.

Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.

Friday Firsts

Mr. PiN and I had to vacate our rental in early enough to make it to the airport. Figuring out what to do with all the extra kitchen stuffs (food) we had and clean the kitchen, in a short period of time, was… challenging.

Fabulousness

Coming home to our own bed (with warm clothing and blankets) after a week of unusually cold weather at our destination was absolutely fabulous.

It was rather chilly for our warm weather escape.

Fitness Log

The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.

How did I do?

  • Saturday:  Our travel day. I’m sure I walked a bit in the airports, but that was it for exercise. Unless you count packing and unpacking all our stuff.
  • Sunday:  I planned to go for a walk, but it was just too cold out. After putting off exercise until evening, I fired up a 15 minute walking video and actually moved along with it. I will list it under walking.
  • Monday: A workout with my trainer, 30 minutes. She has moved to another time zone, so we discussed when we would train going forward. It sounds like Saturday is the day.
  • Tuesday: I fully planned to do my walking video after work… until I came back from work. Instead I was still catching up from being on vacation, and didn’t have the energy to get this done before dinner. No exercise.
  • Wednesday: I had an odd situation with the tennis indoor court availability. This led to me playing/warming up with Mr. PiN for about 25 minutes, and then having a 30 minute lesson with my teacher. 55 minutes.
  • Thursday: A super long day, though I pretty much caught up from being away. No exercise.
  • Friday: After a very poor night’s sleep, I just made it though the work day. No exercise today either.

Total: 15 minutes of a “walking” video, 30 minutes of strength training, and 55 minutes of tennis, for a total of 100 minutes of exercise. So I did not hit my exercise goals once I was back at work.
