I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for over a year, and plan to continue doing so.
During this pandemic, though, things change so rapidly, I want to acknowledge some of the ways we are coping with it. I am keeping track of some of my “firsts” as I deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Friday Firsts
This week had a number of firsts, most of them exercise related:
- During my yoga class, I was able to get into shoulder stand on my own (I would have to, since it’s over Zoom).
- I had a FaceTime session with my trainer. It was my first formal strength training session in over 2 months.
- I voluntarily spent time in the basement (working out with my trainer). I had been staying away until my husband cleaned it up. He did a very nice job.
Fitness Log
As a reminder, my goal is to make sure that I at least 150 minutes a week of moderate exercise. I am working towards incorporating strength training into my week, with a goal of 60 minutes.
How did I do?
- Saturday: A lazy day after exceeding my exercise challenge last week. No exercise.
- Sunday: I started out with a plan to walk in the neighborhood, but felt inspired to walk further. I somehow ended up at a bakery. Total time per my Fitbit: 66 minutes.
- Monday: A little weeding, followed by an afternoon walk. 33 minutes walking.
- Tuesday: Zoom yoga class, 80 minutes.
- Wednesday: An afternoon walk, 31 minutes.
- Thursday: Worked out with my trainer (remotely). 30 minutes.
- Friday: This was supposed to be a vacation day, but I forgot to get coverage. Walked in the morning, before getting sucked into my electronic inbox. 59 minutes.
Total: 189 minutes walking, 80 minutes yoga, and a 30 minute weight training session. I am definitely hitting my goals! I have a hospital rotation coming up soon, but finally feel good about my exercise plans.
