Fitness Log #210 And Friday Firsts

I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 4 years, and plan to continue doing so.

I started the Friday Firsts sections as a way of keeping track of some of my “firsts” as I dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic. Things seem to be settling down, but I will keep it for now–more as a way to be aware and thankful of what is happening in my life.

Friday Firsts

This week is pretty much all about the firsts:

  1. My first trip abroad since the pandemic.
  2. My first trip to Portugal.
  3. Catching COVID for the first time (ugh).

I also ate octopus for the first time.

Fitness Log

Normally, I talk about my fitness goals here: so many minutes of walking, other cardio, strength training. However, this all goes by the way side when traveling, especially sight seeing. I don’t pull out my phone to time my walking while I am exploring a new city (I used to wear a Fitbit, which recorded time and distance for me, but it is no longer working).

In short, I walked every day, even those days I wasn’t feeling well (and didn’t walk as far). I climbed plenty of steps. I stretched my mind, a bit.

Even if I walked half as much as my usual weeks away, I am sure I moved for more than 150 minutes this week, and will call this week a win (except for the infectious part).
