Fitness Log #290, Friday Firsts And Fabulousness

I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 5 years, and plan to continue doing so.

Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.

Friday Firsts

This week’s firsts:

  1. We rented a fancy car for our vacation! It’s not cheap, and quite frankly I’m worried about nicks and scrapes, but it’s super fun to drive a new, fancy car.
  2. One day later, I got to visit a hospital in the region I had never entered before. My father in law is there–I am pretty sure our vacation plans just got torpedoed.
  3. Continuing with the car theme–on one trip to the hospital, we saw a very unusual car on the highway. It might have been a Cybertruck.
  4. The brokerage account total hit a round number it had been flirting with for several months. Very exciting!

Fabulousness

After a week of trying, we finally picked up dinner from the annual nearby food festival. (Yum!)

We ate it on the porch, enjoying a beautiful spring evening, accompanied by the buzzing of determined bumblebees, who were investigating the blooming rhododendrons.

Another evening, Mr. PiN and I went to the park to play tennis before sunset. It was beautiful.

Fitness Log

The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.

How did I do?

Peacock and peonies
Not the view from our porch. But almost as pretty.
  • Saturday:  None today, my foot was sore and I was tired.
  • Sunday:  26 minutes tennis with Mr. PiN.
  • Monday: A morning walk while it was cooler. I dropped off 2 books into the nearby Little Free Library. 20 minutes. Later, I had a work out with my trainer. 30 minutes.
  • Tuesday: A walk to my pick up point, 20 minutes.
  • Wednesday: Tennis lesson, 60 minutes.
  • Thursday: No walking today.
  • Friday: No exercise today either, it was a long and stressful day.

Total: 40 minutes walking, 86 minutes tennis (some minutes more busy than others) and 30 minutes of strength training, for a total of 156 minutes of exercise. Goal met!

CME Goals

  • CME Videos: 4 videos, which is ahead of my goal!
