I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for over 2 years, and plan to continue doing so.
I started the Friday Firsts sections as a way of keeping track of some of my “firsts” as I dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic. Things seem to be settling down, but I will keep it for now–more as a way to be aware and thankful of what is happening in my life.
Friday Firsts
This week’s firsts:
- I returned to work in the evening, twice, to deal with urgent paperwork.
- A stretch, here, but I think finally watching Dr. Strangelove, after hearing about it for years, may count as a first.
- Posted a vast (for me) quantity of items to my Buy Nothing group, and almost everything was desired. Sometimes by multiple people. I love random number generators.
- Made a teeny tiny step towards promoting the blog (signing up to be listed with All Star Money).
Fitness Log
As a reminder, my current goal is to make sure that I get 210 minutes a week of moderate exercise during a regular week. If I am working in the hospital, I will relax my goal to 90 minutes for the week. At least 60 minutes of my exercise in a normal week should help with strength training; right now, I count yoga as part of this category.
How did I do?
- Saturday: The weather is better, the sidewalks are better, my Fitbit is fixed. Everything is great except I’m a bit out of shape. Hitched a ride to the bakery and walked home, hitting some Little Free Libraries on the way. 36 minutes.
- Sunday: Yesterday I posted a number of items in my Buy Nothing group, and today I went around delivering some of them. Mostly by car, but the last 2 by foot, with plans to walk home. It got too dark, and Mr. PiN picked me up about 1/2 mile from home. 26 minutes walking.
- Monday: After work I delivered the rest of the Buy Nothing items. I got pretty chilled (scrubs are inappropriate for our current weather), and declined to do any more exercising for the day.
- Tuesday: Zoom yoga class after work today. 80 minutes.
- Wednesday: Very sore today, my walk was slow. And apparently my Fitbit didn’t want to sync to give me a time. I will call it 35 minutes.
- Thursday: Workout with my trainer (remotely). I had clearly not fully recovered from Tuesday. 30 minutes.
- Friday: My schedule cleared for a lunch time walk, which was lovely, though I am still out of shape (or tired from my other work outs). 30 minutes.
Total: 127 minutes walking, 30 minutes weight training and 80 minutes yoga this week, for a total of 237 minutes of exercise. Finally hitting my goal again!
