I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for over 2 years, and plan to continue doing so.
I started the Friday Firsts sections as a way of keeping track of some of my “firsts” as I dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic. Things seem to be settling down, but I will keep it for now–more as a way to be aware and thankful of what is happening in my life.
Friday Firsts
This week’s firsts:
- For the first time since I started keeping track of my weekly exercise, I got none. Nada. What can I say, but interns in July?
- At the end of my hospital stint, I came home to a bouquet of roses. Mr. PiN is definitely a keeper.
Fitness Log
As a reminder, my current goal is to make sure that I get 210 minutes a week of moderate exercise, of which 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.
How did I do?
- Saturday: Worked a long day in the hospital.
- Sunday: Worked a shorter day, but had so much to catch up on, I didn’t feel I could go out for a walk.
- Monday: Not the greatest day, in fact it was draining. No exercise.
- Tuesday: Not a bad day, but not short. And the weather wasn’t cooperating. No exercise today either.
- Wednesday: A very frustrating day. No exercise.
- Thursday: A good but long day. No exercise.
- Friday: Also a good day, but a long one. Nothing.
Total: No real exercise all week. This is why working in the hospital is not good for me. I will see what I am up to managing next week, after hardly working out at all for the 2 weeks prior. I am anticipating much pain.
