I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for over 2 years, and plan to continue doing so.
I started the Friday Firsts sections as a way of keeping track of some of my “firsts” as I dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic. Things seem to be settling down, but I will keep it for now–more as a way to be aware and thankful of what is happening in my life.
Friday Firsts
This week’s firsts:
- I was looking for my stash of books to leave in Little Free Libraries on my walk, and realized I had given them all away the week before (woot!).
- I had a hat trick! For the third week in a row, I had a post featured by another blogging site. Very, very exciting.
Fitness Log
As a reminder, my current goal is to make sure that I get 210 minutes a week of moderate exercise, of which 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.
How did I do?
- Saturday: A lazy morning spent at home was followed by a walk home from my bakery. 36 minutes.
- Sunday: My plans for early morning tennis were hijacked by a mention on POF’s Sunday Best (thanks again!!). I eventually went out to the tennis courts with Mr. PiN and hit the ball, connecting with it more often than not. 37 minutes.
- Monday: Strength training after work. I can still tell I fell behind after missing this for about 2 months. 30 minutes.
- Tuesday: I was just tired today when I came home from work. I skipped my recorded yoga class and spent the evening on the sofa. I will get to yoga… tomorrow.
- Wednesday: Walked home from the shopping center. 24 minutes. No yoga.
- Thursday: The weather after work did not cooperate for outdoor activities, and I snacked too much before coming home to make yoga an option. No exercise today.
- Friday: I spent the day catching up on work from prior days. My hip was sore. I guess I just didn’t feel like it. Lots of excuses, no exercise.
Total: 60 minutes walking, 37 minutes of tennis, no yoga, and 30 minutes of strength training, for a total of 127 minutes. I think really, I had an attitude problem this week. Hopefully I can turn that around, I really feel better if I can get more exercise in the week.
