I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for over 3 years, and plan to continue doing so.
I started the Friday Firsts sections as a way of keeping track of some of my “firsts” as I dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic. Things seem to be settling down, but I will keep it for now–more as a way to be aware and thankful of what is happening in my life.
Friday Firsts
This week’s firsts:
- I had to show the tech guru of the department how to do something in the computer.
- Mr. PiN and I found ourselves watching reruns of tennis tournaments. So sad.
Fitness Log
As a reminder, my current goal is to make sure that I get 210 minutes a week of moderate exercise, of which 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.
After last week’s very sad showing, how did I do?
- Saturday: I took a walk after work. The weather wasn’t great, but the air was fresh (fresher than the hospital). 21 minutes.
- Sunday: It was a long day, there was no time to exercise.
- Monday: Today was also long at work, I canceled my training session.
- Tuesday: No exercise, nope.
- Wednesday: Definitely none here either.
- Thursday: Last day before a short winter break. No time to exercise.
- Friday: My first day off in 2 weeks. I spent some time charting, but did go for a short walk; it was incredibly painful. I can’t believe that I have fallen out of shape so quickly (it might be that I was tired and stuffed full of pumpkin protein pancakes). 20 minutes.
Total: 41 minutes walking, 5 days of running around like a headless chicken. I am hoping the rest of my hospital rotations don’t go this way, otherwise I will be a mess.
Luckily, there is a new week and a New Year coming up.
Wishing a happy and healthy New Year to all!
