I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for over 3 years, and plan to continue doing so.
I started the Friday Firsts sections as a way of keeping track of some of my “firsts” as I dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic. Things seem to be settling down, but I will keep it for now–more as a way to be aware and thankful of what is happening in my life.
Friday Firsts
This week’s firsts:
- I had the pleasure of working with one of my favorite resident teams in years.
- For the first time since 2019, I ate a meal with my team (masks were off in the team room!)
Fitness Log
The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.
How did I do?
- Saturday: No exercise today.
- Sunday: Walked part-way home, 20 minutes.
- Monday: No exercise today.
- Tuesday: Walked part-way home, 20 minutes.
- Wednesday: Considered walking home, but the weather was not cooperating.
- Thursday: A long frustrating day, no exercise.
- Friday: Walked part-way home from work today, 20 minutes.
Total: 60 minutes walking, so definitely not at goal. But more than last week, and I’m done with hospital work for a few months (so no excuses going forward!)
