I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 4 years, and plan to continue doing so.
I started the Friday Firsts sections as a way of keeping track of some of my “firsts” as I dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic. Things seem to be settling down, but I will keep it for now–more as a way to be aware and thankful of what is happening in my life.
Friday Firsts
This week’s firsts:
- Mr. PiN received a large check, and we went to the bank to deposit it. We were very anxious about having a check this size, but the teller accepted it like it was nothing. Life is strange sometimes.

Fitness Log
The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.
How did I do?
- Saturday: I started reading a book I had been waiting nearly a year for (cliffhanger ending in last year’s book). I made no time to exercise today.
- Sunday: A 35 minute walk today.
- Monday: I walked part-way home from work, 19 minutes, and then had my workout with my trainer, another 30 minutes.
- Tuesday: Walked most of the way home, 28 minutes.
- Wednesday: No exercise today.
- Thursday: Walked part-way home, 19 minutes.
- Friday: Went to the bank with Mr. PiN and walked home, taking a detour to get a longer walk. 30 minutes.
Total: 131 minutes walking and 30 minutes of strength training, for a total of 161 minutes. I met my goals, but miss my tennis lessons. And I need to start thinking about indoors exercise for the winter.
