I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 4 years, and plan to continue doing so.
I started the Friday Firsts sections as a way of keeping track of some of my “firsts” as I dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic. Things seem to be settling down, but I will keep it for now–more as a way to be aware and thankful of what is happening in my life.
Friday Firsts
This week’s firsts:
- Mr. PiN and I gave away a good portion of last week’s check to our son/step-son.
- I prepared to leave for my first trip out of the country since before the pandemic. My skills are so rusty.
Fitness Log
The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.
How did I do?
- Saturday: Walked home from the bakery, consuming a treat in its entirety before getting even half-way home. Also inspected 2 Little Free Libraries on the way. 34 minutes.
- Sunday: A lovely afternoon walk with Mr. PiN. We lollygagged, staring at Halloween decorations and house renovations, so I am reducing the time I count from the 44 minutes on my stop watch. We’ll call this a 40 minute walk.
- Monday: Super-long work day. I canceled my training session ahead of time, as I knew I wouldn’t be home in time. No exercise.
- Tuesday: Another longish day, came home very tired. No exercise.
- Wednesday: I needed to walk to a pick up point after an appointment for me, but didn’t time it. Later, a tennis lesson: 60 minutes.
- Thursday: Work went very, very late. I was planning to walk part way home, but it got dark, and I wanted to eat dinner.
- Friday: Today is a travel day. I suspect that I will get more than 16 minutes of walking in–but I am publishing this ahead of time. I’ll count this as a no exercise day (besides running around like headless chicken), and update if appropriate.
Total: 74 minutes walking, 60 minutes of tennis, for a clear total of 134 minutes. I probably walked more (between forgetting to work my timer properly, and running around airports), but it’s not officially counted. Yet.
So close! Some weeks just make it so hard to get exercise in. I love swimming and recently realized trying to fit it in some days is just causing far more problems than it helps. Your tracking is really impressive.
Yes, I was very close! (Actually, with all the “uncounted time” walking, I am pretty sure I made my goal). It’s amazing how some weeks it’s so easy to get the exercise in, and some weeks it just doesn’t work out.
Thanks for dropping by!
