I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 4 years, and plan to continue doing so.
I started the Friday Firsts sections as a way of keeping track of some of my “firsts” as I dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic. Things seem to be settling down, but I will keep it for now–more as a way to be aware and thankful of what is happening in my life.
Friday Firsts
This week’s firsts:
- This was a fabulous first: Mr. PiN and I, for the first time in our marriage, attended an ethnic food festival in our neighborhood. We looked at each other and sort of wondered why we hadn’t gone before.
Fitness Log
The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.
How did I do?
- Saturday: The walk to and from the food festival. I did not time it (besides, the walk home was very slow as I was stuffed). Per Google Maps, the walk should have been 32 minutes, so that’s what I will count.
- Sunday: A (timed) walk around the neighborhood. 32 minutes.
- Monday: A walk part-way home, 20 minutes. This week, I canceled my training session–I wasn’t really not sick, but I didn’t feel great.
- Tuesday: A walk part-way home, 20 minutes.
- Wednesday: A tennis lesson, 60 minutes.
- Thursday: A walk part way home, 20 minutes.
- Friday: A day full of work, no exercise.
Total: 124 minutes of walking, 60 minutes of tennis, for a total of 184 minutes. I met my exercise goal with not-too-much effort, which was nice.
