Just a short post today, as my thoughts have been darting all over the place in the past week.
I am meeting with my boss (one of my many bosses) this week, to discuss what my position might look like going forward.
Even though I think I know what I want, I’m torn between joining multiple friends in retirement, and continuing to practice medicine at my current institution.

Of course, what I want and what my boss can agree to may be very different things. Especially given the uncertainty these days with government funding.
I hope to have, as we say, some clarity about my future by the end of the week.
What’s new with you?
Good luck with your meeting. I hope you get the outcome you’re hoping for.
Not much new here. We’re doing a bathroom “refresh” on our main bathroom. It’s not a full reno, but big enough that I am stressed trying to choose colours and fixtures. They originally said early March but now they are starting next week, so decisions have to be made quickly.
I got exactly what I asked for. Which is both awesome and scary (what if it turns out I asked for changes that don’t make me happier?)
I hope your bathroom turns out well and makes You happier.
Well that is terrific news! I get what you’re saying about the scariness. We never really know if we’re doing the right thing, but we have to trust that we’ve thought things through and it will be a step in the right direction. You’ve taken a very thoughtful approach to this so I have faith it will turn out well for you!
