Fitness Log #334, Friday Firsts And Fabulousness

I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 6 years, and plan to continue doing so.

Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.

Friday Firsts

I received a notice that one of my patients had made a donation in my honor to the hospital. I am touched, but I hope she didn’t feel she had to give a lot. I know money and costs are often a concern for her.

Fabulousness

I met with my friend at the bakery and discussed our plans for the national meeting we will be attending soon.

Fitness Log

The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.

How did I do?

  • Saturday:  Completed my 30 minute training session by video.
  • Sunday:  The weather was terrible. I did not walk outside. I also did not do any of the videos I could have done to work out.
  • Monday: Getting up super early for a meeting meant I was too tired to do anything extra when I came home. And since Mr. PiN had an appointment near my hospital, I got a ride home instead of sneaking in a walk.
  • Tuesday: Today I walked to my further pick up point, 20 minutes.
  • Wednesday: A tennis lesson, 60 minutes.
  • Thursday: I walked towards my pick up point, but Mr. PiN came early and met me a little closer in to work. 15 minutes walking.
  • Friday: I was finishing up at work before a trip, and just didn’t get out for a walk today.

Total: 35 minutes of walking, 30 minutes of strength training, and 60 minutes of tennis, for a total of 125 minutes. I am not sure I would have managed to hit my goal, even if I weren’t clearing out my inbox, but at least I was close.
