Fitness Log #338, Friday Firsts And Fabulousness

I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 6 years, and plan to continue doing so.

Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.

Fabulousness

Mr. PiN and I went out to dinner this weekend. It was a beautiful Spring evening, with lots of people out. We looked at each other and asked why don’t we do this more often (unfortunately, it was immediately followed by the answer–because that’s a good way to add more unhealthy food to our diet).

I attended another meeting at the end of the week, at a fabulous resort/convention center. It was lovely. The meeting itself was great too, an interesting topic, and great food served (a big change from other medical meetings I have attended).

Still life of flowers and fruit
It isn’t always all about the food, but sometimes it is.

Friday Firsts

The meeting was held in an area I had never been to before.

Fitness Log

The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.

How did I do?

  • Saturday:  A 30 minute workout with my trainer. My last for a while, given my upcoming schedule.
  • Sunday:  A late afternoon walk in the neighborhood. 28 minutes.
  • Monday: I walked to a slightly further pick up point today. It was better to keep moving than stand in the rain waiting for my ride. 20 minutes.
  • Tuesday: Another walk to the further pick up point, 20 minutes.
  • Wednesday: My tennis teacher canceled for today, and I was all set to take a long walk to meet my weekly goals. However, I had a headache all day and this went by the wayside.
  • Thursday: A 20 minute walk in the neighborhood before starting travel to my second meeting this month. I decided I had better take some walks once I get to my destination, if I want to meet my goal this week–and we did, about 15 minutes walking around the hotel neighborhood.
  • Friday: A full day of meetings–the convention center wasn’t nearly as large as in New Orleans, but I probably got some steps in during the day. I walked about 20 minutes in the afternoon and evening, with a short stroll after talks, and then a walk in search of a restaurant.

Total: 123 minutes of walking and 30 minutes of strength training, for a total of 153 minutes. I had to put a little effort in, but I made my goal!

I hope you have had a good week. Feel free to share any fabulous news of your own.
