I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 6 years, and plan to continue doing so.
Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.
Fabulousness
Saturday night at the meeting, Mr. PiN and I stayed in and had dinner with a view. We watched planes taking off and landing at the nearby airport, and then a beautiful sunset.
On the way home from the meeting, we stopped in at my brother’s. Our lightning visit stretched for a few hours, but we had a great time with him and the family.
After some wild weather on Tuesday, we still had power (super thankful!). The couple who introduced us did not have power, so we were happy to have them over to charge their phones and enjoy some hot food.
Friday Firsts
This week’s firsts:
- Mr. PiN and I hosted a local friend who lost power in a big storm. She and her husband have been to our house many times for dinner, but never stayed overnight. Until this week.

Fitness Log
The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.
How did I do?
- Saturday: I walked in the convention center, I’m not sure how much to count it.
- Sunday: A little walking, a lot of traveling.
- Monday: Back at work. I walked to my pick up point after work, 17 minutes.
- Tuesday: We had Weather this afternoon, I did not walk to a pick up point (and it’s a good thing I didn’t). I waited out the wild times at the hospital and got a ride home with Mr. PiN in the car.
- Wednesday: I did make it to a tennis lesson, though the venue had to be changed because roads were closed to the outside courts. 60 minutes.
- Thursday: The weather was still bad, I was picked up at the hospital and did not exercise when I came home.
- Friday: I did take a walk after work today, 2o minutes.
Total: 60 minutes playing tennis, 37 minutes of walking. I did not meet my exercise goal, but I also didn’t get injured in the big storm and the aftermath. Safety first.
Monthly Round Up
- Exercise goals (150 minutes per week; but only 90 minutes when working on the hospital wards): Met 2/4 weeks.
- Clutter goals (clear journals and home office): Nothing.
- Local Adventures (1-2 per month). A dinner out at home was fun.
- Social activity (two in-person activities per month). Went out to lunch with my friend at the ACP meeting.
- Attend services (1 per month). Nope.
- Explore my Curious List (try something new every quarter?): Not even.
I hope you have had a good week as well. Feel free to share any fabulous news of your own.
