Fitness Log #340, And Friday Fabulousness

I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 6 years, and plan to continue doing so.

Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.

Fabulousness

It was fun to walk to dinner with a friend. Walking back a little over-full was less fabulous, but probably good for me.

Fitness Log

The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.

How did I do during this hospital week?

Spring can be so delightful…sadly, mine has not been as amazing as this still-life.
  • Saturday:  My house guest and I walked to the purported food festival, only to find it starts tomorrow. We hit up a nearby (permanent) restaurant for dinner out, and walked home. 40 minutes for the round trip.
  • Sunday:  I walked to my pick up point to get a ride home from work, 17 minutes. Late afternoon, the weather was so pleasant (and working on the sofa so tedious) that I took another walk, 20 minutes.
  • Monday: A walk to an early pick up point, 16 minutes.
  • Tuesday: A walk to my pick up point, with a little confusion leading to a little extra walking. Call it 18 minutes.
  • Wednesday: A lot of walking today: back and forth to a PCP visit (24 minutes round trip), and then to the local food festival after work, 18 minutes. I had Mr. PiN bring the car down, so I didn’t have to walk uphill after eating. Total today: 42 minutes.
  • Thursday: A walk to my regular pick up point, 17 minutes.
  • Friday: A walk to my regular pick up point, 17 minutes.

Total: 187 minutes of walking, more than meeting my non-hospital week goals. I think I blew my goal out of the water! Clearly, food is a great motivator for me. Also walking with a friend.

I hope you have had a good week. Feel free to share any fabulous news of your own.
