I was introduced to Wednesday W’s via Burning Desire for Fire, as a way to give short updates–in her case, in early retirement.
In my case, I am not retiring (yet), but I will be taking an extra day off each week, giving me a 3-day weekend. I am curious about what I will do with that extra day, and think blogging about it might prompt me to make sure I take advantage of it.
I haven’t yet officially started my standing Mondays-off schedule, but did not have clinic scheduled this past Monday. I thought I would give the Wednesday W’s a try.
When did I wake up? Alarm was set for 4:30 AM, to make an early flight home.
Who am I spending time with? I spent some more time with my mother, who drove me to the airport.
What did I do for work? According to Screen Time on my computer, I spent 12 minutes checking my e-mail, and 1 hr 12 minutes logged into the electronic medical record–mostly spent checking messages from patients and reviewing results.
What project am I working on, now I have the time? Nothing. I am exhausted from several nights of going to bed late, and then waking up at 4:30 this morning.
What did I do to “fill my bucket?” I spent nearly all day lying down with a book, one my best friend has been recommending I read for years. I enjoyed it.
What else was good about today? I did do some laundry today, and enjoyed slipping into bed to enjoy freshly washed sheets. More importantly, I was very happy to return home and spend time with my spouse.
What’s made me laugh recently:
