Fitness Log #344, Friday Firsts And Fabulousness

I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 6 years, and plan to continue doing so.

Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.

Friday Firsts

I had a free hour this week because the learners in my CME series had a conflicting meeting (usually it’s because I am away). It was very nice to have an extra hour to get work done in.

Fabulousness

I donated several old running shoes and shredded a few months’ worth of financial papers this week.

I did all this on my day off, after meeting my retired friend at the local bakery for treats and a chat.

Meanwhile, the local library let me know it had my reserved copy of a new book by a favored author. Reading new books is fun, reading them for free is fabulous.

Fitness Log

The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.

How did I do?

Two women sit on a bench near a harbor, the younger in blue, bent over crying, the elder in black, comforting her.

I will cut to the chase: I was super-tired, my trainer and teacher were away, my work hours were long, and the weather was unsafe for walking. I walked to my pick up point only once (17 minutes). Vague plans to do work out videos indoors were not completed.

Total: 17 minutes of walking, I totally did not meet my exercise goals this week.

I hope you have had a good week. Feel free to share any fabulous news of your own.
