I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 6 years, and plan to continue doing so.
Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.
Friday Firsts
I got to see a new (to me) suburban hospital ER. It was a first, but definitely not a fabulous.
Fabulousness
Mr. PiN decided it was time to clear out unneeded clothing. 4 (large, trash sized) bags were donated this week. Extra room in the closet: fabulous.
Fitness Log
The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.
How did I do?

- Saturday: I finally met with my trainer again, for the first time in nearly 2 months. She took it easy on me, but I was still quite tired afterwards. 30 minutes.
- Sunday: Between bad air and bad weather, I stayed indoors. I didn’t even pretend that I was going to exercise today, unless you count going up and down the stairs to do laundry.
- Monday: I walked to my pick up point, 17 minutes.
- Tuesday: A walk to the pick up point after work, 17 minutes.
- Wednesday: I went to my first tennis lesson in 1.5 months. Not surprisingly, I played very poorly. But I did get in 60 minutes of running around.
- Thursday: A walk to my pick up point after work, 17 minutes. I got a surprise call and spent a late night at the ER with my friend.
- Friday: After short night of sleep, I worked to finish up in time to get to the airport for an evening flight to see my mom. There was no exercise, unless you count walking to my gate (which was quite a distance away from the airport entrance, but I wasn’t measuring my exercise).
Total: 51 minutes of walking, 30 of strength training, and 60 minutes of tennis, for a total of 141 minutes of exercise. Not quite at goal, but close.
I hope you have had a good week. Feel free to share any fabulous news of your own.

Isn’t it wonderful when our spouses are inspired to declutter? My husband has been clearing out the garage and garden shed this spring. I love it!
It is absolutely wonderful. I have to remember to admire, and not to encourage him to do more right away.
