I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 6 years, and plan to continue doing so.
Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.
Friday Firsts
I went for my first of several infusions.
I tried out a new ice cream place with a friend.
And, I had a tennis lesson at a different location (high school courts), as the public courts were being used for a competition.
Fabulousness
I’ve been enjoying the new carpeting–the fabulousness hasn’t worn off yet.
Also lovely: the uncrowded coat closet, which was cleared in order to let the carpet installers work. This week, I even sorted through all the stuff that came out of the closet and that isn’t going back.
Fitness Log
The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.
How did I do?

- Saturday: The weather remained beautiful, and I took a walk before breakfast (27 minutes). I worked out with my trainer later, 30 minutes.
- Sunday: Today was a home day, with lots of chores (and stairs) but no formal exercise.
- Monday: A walk from my own medical appointment to my usual pick up point, 20 minutes.
- Tuesday: A walk part-way home, 17 minutes.
- Wednesday: A tennis lesson, 60 minutes. Later in the day, I met my friend at her house and we walked to a new ice cream place. I didn’t count the walk, but I am sure that we burned off all the calories in the ice cream with our 4 block walk. 😉
- Thursday: Today was a bus day. Walking home, I went about 1 mile, took the bus up a steep hill, and got dropped off at the wrong stop (they didn’t stop for me!) and walked a bit longer home. 28 minutes.
- Friday: My last day of work before a real vacation! It took a while to clear my inbox, but for once I finished before dark. Very exciting!
Total: 72 minutes of walking, 30 minutes of strength training, and 60 minutes of tennis, for a total of 162 minutes. I met my exercise goal!
I hope you have had a good week. Feel free to share any fabulous news of your own.

Congrats on hitting your fitness goal! I love the comment about the carpet. Sometimes fabulousness lingers!
Very proud to have met my fitness goal. And to be honest, the carpet still feels awesome when I step from the old, flat carpet to the new fluffy stuff (but it does need to be vacuumed…)
