I’ve started Wednesday W’s as a way to give short updates of how I use my (new) extra day off per week. I am curious about what I will do with that extra day, and think blogging about it might prompt me to make sure I take advantage of it.
When did I wake up: Late, at 8:30.
Who am I spending time with: Many people in businesses as I run errands (many errands).
What did I do for work: About 1.5 hours in the electronic medical record, dealing with messages/med refills/results. And another 45 minutes doing administrative things, and answering (required) surveys for CME.
What project am I working on, now I have time: Sending out get well and birthday cards.
What did I do to “fill my bucket:” I don’t know that I had a lot of bucket-filling today. But I did do a lot of social things over the weekend.
What else was good about today: I was able to cross a number of things off my to-do list. Not super exciting things, but they needed to get done.
What was concerning about today: I was a little bored, and excited to check into work to see if I had anything new to deal with. I need to find something else to keep me busy.
What’s made me laugh:

“I need to find something else to keep me busy.” You need to make a curious list. It’s an exercise I do in my retirement coaching sessions. Brainstorm a list of things you’re even slightly curious about and keep adding to it. I wrote a piece about it on Wise & Shine if you’re interested.

I loved your post on the Curious List. I made a preliminary list–I probably need to tape it to the wall of my home office as a reminder. Though, to be fair, this particular Monday was stressful with an upcoming trip (I am not sure I had a lot of bandwidth to deal with other projects that day).
That’s the beauty of the curious list. It’s there whenever you need it!
