Fitness Log #361, Friday Firsts And Fabulousness

I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 7 years, and plan to continue doing so.

Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.

Friday Firsts

I attended the opening of an exhibit at a local museum. They even had a reception for members–how exciting!

Fabulousness

Not only did I attend the exhibit, but I also cheered for the runners in the local road race. It was a fabulous weekend.

I was surprised by an email with an Amazon gift card as a thank you for filling out a questionnaire for a research project. I was able to buy several frivolous Kindle books to read on my upcoming vacation. What a super surprise.

Fitness Log

The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.

How did I do?

I did not run a foot race, but I cheered for one.
  • Saturday:  My 30 minute workout with my trainer.
  • Sunday:  I was planning to walk home after getting my COVID booster, but Mr. PiN was leaving just as I was done. I accepted his offer of a ride. I did not get any more formal exercise for the day, though I did get some chores done.
  • Monday: I tired myself out running errands, and didn’t do any real exercise today.
  • Tuesday: After a long day at the office, I walked to my pick up point. 17 minutes.
  • Wednesday: I was going to cancel my tennis lesson (again) but my teacher encouraged me to attend. She promised to be careful of my back. It was very nice to practice again, though the back was a little sore by the end. We’ll see how I feel tomorrow! 60 minutes of tennis.
  • Thursday: Not too sore today, but tired. I did take an evening walk around the neighborhood, 20 minutes.
  • Friday: A walk after work, 26 minutes.

Total: 63 minutes of walking, 30 minutes of strength training, and 60 minutes of tennis, for a total of 153 minutes. I met my goal despite skipping 2 days of exercise!

I hope you have had a good week. Feel free to share any fabulous news of your own.
