I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 7 years, and plan to continue doing so.
Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.
Friday Firsts
This was a travel week with plenty of firsts: first time in a fancier airplane seat (not first class!), and I visited 5 cities/towns I had never seen before: Windsor (England), Luxembourg City, Trier (Germany), Echternach (Luxembourg), and Brussels.
A different first was going abroad and meeting up with my sister-in-law there. It was a lot of fun going around a foreign country with an additional travel companion. (It obviously helps that she and Mr. PiN and I all get along.)

Fabulousness
There was plenty of fabulousness: visiting with my sister-in-law, seeing several cities I hadn’t seen before, getting some walks in and also seeing museums.
Fitness Log
The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.
How did I do during this travel week? To be honest, since I no longer have a working Fitbit, I have no firm data on my exercise. Based on my feet and hips, I did tons of walking.
- Saturday: A 30 minute work out with my trainer before finishing my packing.
- Sunday-Friday: Walking and sightseeing, some days more (hours) than others (20-30 minutes).
Total: 30 minutes of strength training and many miles over quite a few, uncounted, hours. I would call this week a total win, between my walking, visiting, and new sights.
I hope you have had a good week. Feel free to share any fabulous news of your own.
