I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 7 years, and plan to continue doing so.
Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.
Friday Firsts
Mr. PiN and I hosted some old acquaintances of his for dinner at our home for the first time.
Fabulousness
I very much appreciated the work Mr. PiN put into cleaning up before our guests arrived. Our house looks more fabulous than it has for a while.
I also very much enjoyed going home and visiting with my mom. Her young cat is also a delight–very sweet, and eager to play.
Fitness Log
The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.
How did I do?

- Saturday: On the way back from the grocery store, I had my mom drop me off at the local park to walk the rest of the way home. 22 minutes.
- Sunday: I went out “for a short walk,” and got lured into a longer one, including following that path in the woods. 52 minutes.
- Monday: There was packing, and flying, and coming home. I did walk though 2 airports, but since I am not desperate to find exercise time to meet my goal, I will let any estimates rest at zero.
- Tuesday: It was cold and rainy after work, so I asked for a pick up at the hospital. And did no exercise when I got home.
- Wednesday: My back was super stiff today and my fellow tennis student wasn’t able to attend. I played for an hour, but my movement and hitting were pretty poor.
- Thursday: I took a chilly walk to my pick up point (a public library) and stopped in first to collect a reserved book before getting in the car. 17 minutes.
- Friday: A walk after work, 20 minutes.
Total: 111 minutes of walking and 60 minutes of tennis, for a total of 171 minutes of exercise. I met my goal despite my back troubles!
I hope you have had a good week. Feel free to share any fabulous news of your own.
