Fitness Log #372, Friday Firsts And Fabulousness

I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 7 years, and plan to continue doing so.

Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.

Friday Firsts

I’m sure there must be something going on here, but I totally missed writing it down.

Fabulousness

My Saturday friends met up in-person. As it turned out, winter weather and winter colds kept a few from attending, but the rest of us had a great time chatting in person. It was kind of hard to get dressed and out of the house, when I usually just have to roll over to the computer, but the effort was worth it.

Fitness Log

The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.

How did I do?

  • Saturday:  Going out apparently used up all of my energy. The rest of the day was spent in relaxation, and not any exercise.
  • Sunday:  Late in the afternoon, I did a stretching (yoga lite) video, 15 minutes.
  • Monday: I worked out with my trainer this morning, as a make-up from missing this Saturday. 30 minutes.
  • Tuesday: I woke up very early, anxious about something related to work. This meant I was tired in the afternoon. It was not great walking, so I was picked up at work and did not get around to exercise today. (I tell myself I will make it up later…)
  • Wednesday: A solo tennis lesson, there was lots of running (but also some water breaks). 60 minutes.
  • Thursday: It was warm enough for me to take a walk to my pick up point, 17 minutes.
  • Friday: The weather was not conducive to a pleasant walk. I tried another stretching video, time chosen to meet my weekly goal: 28 minutes.

Total: Just 17 minutes of walking, 30 minutes of strength training, 60 minutes of tennis, and 43 minutes of stretching videos, for a total of 150 minutes this week. I made my goal!

I hope you have had a good week. Feel free to share any fabulous news of your own.
