I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 7 years, and plan to continue doing so.
Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.
Friday Firsts
Mr. PiN and I had a visitor over Christmas.
Fabulousness
My brother came to visit all on his own (no wife, no children) for several days. I haven’t seen him under these circumstances for years. It was really fun.
Fitness Log
The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.
How did I do?

- Saturday: A workout with my trainer by video. This is a morning workout, and I had worked out the evening before–I realized that perhaps I need a little more time between exertions. 30 minutes.
- Sunday: Today it was even more apparent that I had overdone things. I did not do any exercise.
- Monday: I had planned to take a walk or do a video workout, but my legs are so sore and stiff, this is on hold for today.
- Tuesday: My legs are still stiff, but I was able to manage my walk part way home from work. 17 minutes.
- Wednesday: My tennis lesson had to be rescheduled, as the courts were closed early for the holiday. Instead, I took a walk in the neighborhood, traffic was down for the holiday. 30 minutes.
- Thursday: Mr. PiN and I walked with our guest (my brother) up to the shops, and then eventually walked back. I would estimate this was about 50 minutes of walking.
- Friday: A rescheduled tennis lesson, 60 minutes.
Total: 97 minutes of walking, 30 minutes of strength training, and 60 minutes of tennis, for a total of 187 minutes. It was a good week.
I hope you have had a good week. Feel free to share any fabulous news of your own.
