I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 7 years, and plan to continue doing so.
Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.
I must confess, I forgot to write down any firsts for this week.

Fabulousness
I hosted a tea party for my Sunday friends; 2 of us surprised the other with a celebration of her being eligible for retirement–a big deal when you work for a university. She isn’t retiring yet, but it’s great to know she can get her special benefits if she wants to stop working.
Fitness Log
The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.
How did I do?
- Saturday: A video workout with my trainer, 30 minutes.
- Sunday: I ran around cleaning the living room, but did not formal exercise today.
- Monday: I braved the poorly shoveled neighborhood sidewalks, 33 minutes.
- Tuesday: I stayed late to finish notes, and it was so dark I asked to be picked up. No exercise today.
- Wednesday: A tennis lesson, 60 minutes.
- Thursday: I got out early enough to walk to my pick up point, 17 minutes.
- Friday: I calculated I needed only 10 minutes of exercise to meet my goal. After work, I found a 15 minute walking video to complete.
Total: 50 minutes of walking, 30 of strength training, 60 minutes of tennis and 15 minutes of an exercise video, for a total of 155 minutes of exercise. I met my goal!
I hope you have had a good week. Feel free to share any fabulous news of your own.
