I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 7 years, and plan to continue doing so.
Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.
Friday Firsts
I confess, I forgot to write any down.
Fabulousness
Not to be too negative, but there was very little fabulous about returning home from vacation with a respiratory viral illness.
Especially since Mr. PiN had to leave town a few days after our return. It was fabulous that he could come home 1 day earlier than expected.
Fitness Log
The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.
How did I do?

- Saturday: It was a travel day, so no doubt I got some steps in. Probably not many, since I’m sick, and I didn’t count.
- Sunday: I’m home and I’m sick, no exercise today.
- Monday: No exercise today either.
- Tuesday: I walked to my usual pick up point after work, and felt pretty bushed afterwards. 17 minutes.
- Wednesday: I did not attend my tennis lesson today; I’m still tired and out of breath, and do not want to share any germs with my teacher, fellow student, or any of the people in the indoor tennis courts.
- Thursday: Today I had to take the bus into work and back. There was probably some significant walking done, but nothing was counted.
- Friday: The weather was better, and I was desperate to get outside after a long day of work in front of the computer. I did my usual 20 minute walk, but got a little tired half-way through.
Total: I counted 37 minutes of walking, with likely some additional time I didn’t count. Totally didn’t meet my exercise count, and absolutely didn’t care. I will start exercising more when I recover.
I hope you have had a good week. Feel free to share any fabulous news of your own.
