I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 7 years, and plan to continue doing so.
Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.
Friday Firsts
I saw my first crocuses of Spring.
Fabulousness
We had a lovely early Spring day, with sun and fresh air. It was a delight to open the windows. I know it’s too early for this weather, and we will likely see freezing weather and snow before Spring comes to stay, but it was a welcome arrival.
Fitness Log
The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.

How did I do?
- Saturday: No workout with my trainer today, as she feels unwell. I’m not fully recovered myself, actually. I took an abbreviated walk today, 14 minutes.
- Sunday: A rest day (sounds better than a lazy day).
- Monday: I worked out with my trainer today, since Saturday didn’t work for her. 30 minutes.
- Tuesday: It was pouring raining, I did not walk to my pick up point. I’m still not fully recovered, so I didn’t push to do an exercise video.
- Wednesday: I did attend my tennis lesson. My teacher and fellow student were kind enough to let me have 2 bounces on the ball, which let me play without totally falling over. 60 minutes.
- Thursday: It was rainy and I got a ride home. No exercise.
- Friday: A 20 minute walk when I got a break from clinic.
Total: 34 minutes of walking, 30 of strength training, and 60 minutes of tennis, for a total 124 minutes of exercise. I did not meet by goal, but I am happy with my recovery from being ill.
I hope you have had a good week. Feel free to share any fabulous news of your own.

I like the idea of a rest day instead of a lazy day. Twice this week, I’ve written in my journal that it was a lazy day. I think I’ll follow your lead and think of these as rest days.
