I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for over a year, and plan to continue doing so.
During this pandemic, though, things change so rapidly, I want to acknowledge some of the ways we are coping with it. I am keeping track of some of my “firsts” as I deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Friday Firsts
This week had a number of firsts, none of which I want to do ever again:
- Leaving my hospital rotation early and having to get coverage.
- Applying for FMLA.
- Taking a perfectly healthy appearing person into the hospital to have a major surgery.
Fitness Log
As a reminder, my goal is to make sure that I at least 150 minutes a week of moderate exercise. I am working towards incorporating strength training into my week, with a goal of 60 minutes.
How did I do?
- Saturday: A day off, finally!! A long walk, I must confess the destination was the bakery; I met a friend there, but we stayed socially distanced. 73 minutes for the round trip, plus a little walking in the vicinity.
- Sunday: A super long day at work, no exercise.
- Monday: An easier day. Walked after work for 33 minutes.
- Tuesday: A busy day, no way to get home in time for Zoom yoga, so no exercise today.
- Wednesday: I had to walk all the way home, 39 minutes.
- Thursday: At the hospital, not for work, but because Mr. PiN is a patient. I know I walked at least 1.5 miles today, but my Fitbit registered only 23 minutes of walking (I know it took me longer to walk that far). Anyway, I will count just 23 minutes.
- Friday: I walked to the hospital Starbucks in the afternoon, which didn’t register on my Fitbit. I stayed past dinner, so I went to the cafeteria in the evening, which did register. 18 minutes counted.
Total: 183 minutes walking and no time weight training. I am surprised I walked as much as I did and will take that as a win.
My spouse and I stumbled over here by a different
web page and thought I might as well check things out. I
like what I see so i am just following you. Look forward to checking out your web page yet again.
