Fitness Log #98 And Friday Firsts

I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for over a year, and plan to continue doing so.

I started the Friday Firsts sections as a way of keeping track of some of my “firsts” as I dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic. Things seem to be settling down, but I will keep it for now–more as a way to be aware and thankful of what is happening in my life.

Friday Firsts

This week’s firsts:

  1. Walking home from work, someone was giving out roses (to anyone, not just health care workers).
  2. My first non-English comment for the blog!
I worked a lot this week, but thankfully my job isn’t as much hard labor as theirs.

Fitness Log

As a reminder, my goal is to make sure that I at least 150 minutes a week of moderate exercise. I am working towards incorporating strength training into my week, with a goal of 60 minutes.

How did I do?

  • Saturday:  Walked part way home from work, 26 minutes.
  • Sunday:  After a short day at work, walked around the neighborhood (and off-loaded a small paperback into the nearest Little Free Library). 42 minutes.
  • Monday:  Finished up a little later, but still walked part way home. 28 minutes.
  • Tuesday:  Just work today, no exercise. Came home far too late for Zoom yoga.
  • Wednesday: Walked part-way home from work, 25 minutes.
  • Thursday: A very long day today, no exercise.
  • Friday: A long day at work followed by inclement weather. No exercise.

Total: 121 minutes walking, no weight training and no yoga. I miss the strength training, but feel much better about getting some walking in. Hopefully, as my work duties drop next week, I will get better about meeting all my weekly fitness goals.
