I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 5 years, and plan to continue doing so.
Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.
Friday Firsts
This week’s firsts:
- Mr. PiN is now truly in charge of his dad’s finances for the first time. He has, sadly, discovered a whole lot of issues that his dad was not taking care of.
Fabulousness
I have been going to Barnes and Noble more often, as Mr. PiN’s dad has moved to a place very close to a store. I have definitely been enjoying looking through books on the weekends while Mr. PiN visits.
Fitness Log
The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.
How did I do?
- Saturday: Bad weather and low energy meant: no exercise today.
- Sunday: I had a lot of work to catch up on, and was on-call. I did sneak in a 24 minute walk.
- Monday: Overnight call meant I was in bad shape today. I did walk 20 minutes to my new pick up point after work, but I bailed on my trainer to try to catch up on my sleep.
- Tuesday: I was still tired, and decided my back pack was too heavy to walk with. No exercise for me today, except my foot exercises.
- Wednesday: Today I can sleep in a little late, so I did. I felt tons better. My tennis teacher had me run a lot more today, 60 minutes of tennis (with running).
- Thursday: A tough day at work, I even declined to do my foot exercises.
- Friday: Another long, tiring day. No real exercise, not even any foot exercises.
Total: 44 minutes of walking and 60 minutes of tennis. I was a little lazy, but also a little stubborn after having my sleep torpedoed while on call. I definitely did not meet my exercise goals this week. And I did my foot exercises only once.
Monthly Round Up
- Exercise goals (150 minutes per week; but only 90 minutes when working on the hospital wards): Met my goals 2 of 4 weeks.
- PT goals (do at least 3 days a week): 2 weeks of doing foot exercises twice.
- Clutter goals: Nothing done this month.
- Local Adventures. Enjoyed 2 visits to the Barnes & Noble.
- CME. Attended an in-person conference, had 1 study session with my friend, and finished the ID section of MKSAP on my own. No CME videos–and most likely won’t watch any more until my boards are completed.
- Social activity (one in-person activity per month). Study with B, and attended WCICON24. (The latter should count as multiple social activities, considering how many people I met!)
I hope you have had a good week as well. Feel free to share any fabulous news of your own.
