Fitness Log #279, Friday Firsts And Fabulousness

I have been keeping track of my exercise every Friday for 5 years, and plan to continue doing so.

Since the pandemic started, I have been keeping track of “firsts,” and more lately, I have been trying to note good things (“fabulousness”). It’s a good way to pay attention and not let life slide by.

Friday Firsts

This week’s firsts:

  1. I gave a presentation on personal finance at work to a small group. I can’t quite tell how it was received, as it was given by video and I couldn’t see the audience while screen-sharing.

Fabulousness

  1. See above.
  2. One of the people who heard the lecture reached out to ask about the investment fees in our work retirement plan.

Fitness Log

The goal is to get 150 minutes of moderate exercise, of which (ideally) 60 minutes should build strength (yoga counts); if I am working in the hospital, my goal is just 90 minutes, which is a more realistic stretch during those busy days.

How did I do?

Feeling accomplished this week.
  • Saturday:  A 31 minute walk back from the bakery.
  • Sunday:  Mr. PiN accompanied me on a walk, 30 minutes.
  • Monday: A walk part way home after work, I went a little further than usual, 25 minutes. I finally worked out with my trainer this week, 30 minutes.
  • Tuesday: Another walk part way home, 20 minutes.
  • Wednesday: I did a few errands, and walked part way home, 15 minutes. Then a tennis lesson, 60 minutes. I realized that, even though I haven’t been good about my foot exercises, my foot is feeling better!
  • Thursday: A long day, no time or energy to exercise.
  • Friday: I almost went for a walk, but then decided I would rather chat with my husband until dark. I finally did some foot exercises, though.

Total: 121 minutes of walking, 30 minutes of strength training, and 60 minutes of tennis; that’s 211 minutes of exercise, not counting my sole session of foot exercises. I met my goal and then some!

CME Goals

  • MKSAP: finished Endocrinology and started Nephrology.
  • CME Videos: None.
